I do apologize that this update is so late.
To those of you who prayed for me during April - THANK YOU!
I pondered and pondered how exactly I should conduct this monthly update...
An email? A PDF? I decided on a blog.
And for those of your on my prayer list, I will email the link each month with a copy of the month's update in the email.
With a blog, it will be easier to update pictures, videos, links, ect.
Now... for the very first update...
April
As you know, I sent out a prayer letter in March asking for a year's coverage of prayer.
Asking the strongest prayer warriors I know to commit to one month from April 2011 - April 2012 to pray for me.
I strongly believe in the power of prayer as well as sharing life experiences with fellow believers.
April was jam-packed, as I'm sure many of the upcoming months will end up being.
I received my Czech visa application in the mail!
30 some pages... 98% of it written in the Czech language... I couldn't have been more excited :).
I know Slovak fairly well from living in Slovakia for 11 months after high school, and Czech is very similar. So it was fun to understand most of the literature... but also gave me quite the headache after about 10 short minutes ;). I worked on as much of the application as I could, but April being the last month of school (at Cedarville University in Ohio), it was important to finish academically strong.
However, I did meet with the university's international programs to discuss the next step (registering for classes, insurance, payments, flights, ect) and have been in steady contact with PFS (Prague Film School) regarding this upcoming semester.
April also presented itself with more work with my talent agency, PC-Goenner .
Not only is this helpful financially, but gaining as much experience as possible before I head off to film school is important. I want to arrive with an open mind, but not with an empty tray.
I did some promotional modeling gigs and well as a super fun photo shoot with good friend and extremely talented photographer Christina Littleton who partnered with Joli Boutique.
Also, April was my best month thus far in my Mary Kay business.
I started my own business teaching skin care classes and selling skin care products in December and it's amazing how to see how God's has used it. It's helped improve my organization, leadership and mindset. Teaching woman the importance of taking care of what God has given them rather then trying to change it is something that has been on my heart for years. And being able to have an avenue do that through is an answer to prayer. But in addition to serving, Mary Kay has providing me with finances that I never would not have had otherwise. In April, I almost made it into my first month of car qualifications for my FREE CAR. Yes, I can earn a FREE car...incredible. I didn't quite make it in April, but that's ok. Maybe this month. We'll see what God has in store. Nonetheless, the month of April was a great encouragement and blessing.
School wrapped up... work is picking up... and time to finish this Czech Visa application.
I also created a separate Facebook page for all industry life - SarahBrown.
It's a fan page, so no friend request is needed, just a "like."
I'll be updating this page almost daily (as I do now).
I think that's about it for April...
I'm just constantly reminded that when you simply pray for protection, guidance and opportunities to be a blessing, you never know where God is going to lead you. Opportunities presented themselves in ways I never would have thought of this past month, and I truly do believe it's through your prayers.
